Title: Purchasing Specialist/ Buyer

Position Description:

  • Prepares purchase orders (PO’s) and request for quotes (RFQ’s)
  • Reviews vendor quotes and negotiates best price with vendors
  • Establishes new vendor relationships as required to meet project needs
  • Follows-up with vendors to determine status of orders
  • Expedites orders as required to maintain on-time order delivery
  • Communicates with all departments and resolves issues related to purchasing
  • Cross-trains with Parts Department
  • Reports directly to the Operations Manager

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 2+ years minimum Aviation Purchasing experience
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Familiarity with Mil-Spec Hardware (MS & NAS, etc.)
  • Current knowledge and use of Quantum Component Control Software, preferably in the aviation industry preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic math skills

The Purchasing Specialist/ Buyer performs functions, or is immediately available to perform functions that are considered safety sensitive for the purpose of maintenance or preventive maintenance as defined by 14 CFR 121. Therefore, employment and continued employment with the company is conditioned upon full compliance with the company’s Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program as required by 14 CFR Part 120, 135, 145 and 49
