Position Description:

Assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in day to day operations, maintaining quality requirements for the work performed, generating and auditing paperwork, documenting that work, and various other tasks to ensure quality standards are being followed. Some examples of daily responsibilities are:

  • Organizes and originates work packages for the Repair Station and Job Travelers for the Manufacturing departments, as needed
  • Assists in generating aircraft log entries, FAA Form 337’s, and FAA Form 8130-3’s
  • Completes and files ancillary documents as required
  • Audits and completes repair station/manufacturing documentation to finalize and file away
  • Support the shop floor with providing data and aiding documentation to complete work performed
  • Maintaining and updating quality Manuals, as required
  • File, update, and manage various logs required for proper tracking


  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 or more years work experience at a 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station
  • Experience and/or is familiar with research of aircraft historical records and log books
  • Able to read and interpret technical data, repair drawings and/or engineering drawings
  • Understanding of the FARs, Airworthiness Directives, methods, techniques and practices contained in the applicable manufacturers’ maintenance and alteration documents, and other data acceptable to, or approved by, the FAA
  • Knowledge of FAA quality systems
  • Ability to be detailed and organized in maintaining and completing inspection records
  • Ability to take directions and follow through on assigned tasks to completion
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize their tasks with little oversight at times
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license(s) strongly preferred but, not required

Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, lying down, climbing, twisting, reaching, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs.
  • Position will alternate between working indoors and outdoors with variable climate and lighting conditions
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and have good reasoning skills
  • For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health and environmental concerns
  • The employee will be in the vicinity of site specific chemicals and materials subjecting the employee to possible injury from contact or exposure. Proper personal protective equipment and attire should be worn
  • Available to work overtime when required

The Quality Assurance Assistant performs functions, or is immediately available to perform functions that are considered safety sensitive for the purpose of maintenance or preventive maintenance as defined by 14 CFR 121. Therefore, employment and continued employment with the company is conditioned upon full compliance with the company’s Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program as required by 14 CFR Part 120, 135, 145 and 49 CFR Part 40.
